PlayZone Europe: Temporary exhibition

Belgium will become President of the Council of the European Union in the spring of 2024. Mechelen is organizing a major cultural and social festival Construct Europe to put this presidency in the spotlight.
As part of this city festival, the PlayZone Europe exhibition is running in Toy Museum Mechelen.

Learn more about Europe through toys from the collection of Toy Museum Mechelen. Take a tour through the games and toys offered by the various European member states, from the well-known building block from Denmark to the puzzle cube from the Hungarian Rubick. Through stories of people from Mechelen who migrated from another European country, you will discover how people play in their home country and what gaming traditions they brought with them here. To conclude, the exhibition shows what the European Union is doing in the field of safe toys and how they are tested before they are put on the market. Together we think about how we can make games and toys even better within Europe.
