Heat battery: STEM project
Can you reduce your energy bill at home by creating a setup that can recover the heat from spaghetti cooking water?
In this STEM project, students are challenged to design and realize a system that ensures that the large amount of heat invested in cooking spaghetti, for example, is not completely lost and can be recovered. Cooking often requires a lot of heat and a lot of heat is also lost. It is up to the students to find and investigate a more sustainable solution for this simple problem.
They learn by doing about heat, temperature, heat capacity and insulation materials.
Time commitment : Project for approximately 22 teaching hours, although this can also be scheduled for longer.
