Story
Andrew (Miles Teller) is a promising 19-year-old drummer studying at a notorious Manhattan conservatory. However, he doesn't want to be just any musician. Haunted by his father's failed career as a writer, and the fear that it may be genetic, he dreams of reaching the top. Determined not to follow in his father's footsteps, he practices daily until his hands literally bleed. The pressures intensify when he is selected to play in the school band led by the infamous Terence Fletcher (JK Simmons), a barbaric music teacher who will do anything to unleash his student's potential.
